Costa Rica offers so many different experiences depending on where you go. From dense jungle and wildlife-filled national parks to laid-back surf towns on the coast, each area feels completely distinct. These were two of my favorite places I’ve experienced:

  • Manuel Antonio: Jungle hikes with constant wildlife sightings, coastal trails, and beaches where monkeys and sloths are part of the scenery.
  • Santa Teresa: Slow surf-town days, barefoot living, beach walks, and sunsets that end every day on a high note.
Where to stay
  • Manuel Antonio: Close to the park for early mornings and easy wildlife spotting.
  • Santa Teresa: Right by the beach to lean fully into the laid-back surf vibe.

Costa Rica is for travelers who want immersive nature, wildlife, and easygoing beach days.
